Eddie Gomez has been in the vanguard of music for four decades, working with jazz giants including Dizzy Gillespie, Gerry Mulligan, Benny Goodman and as a member of the Miles Davis Quintet and Bill Evans Trio. He joins the orchestra to walk the fine, infinitely fascinating line between classical and jazz, including a new work by British composer, Simon Bainbridge, tributes to New York jazz, Tango and Ragtime by Milhaud and Stravinsky, Frank Zappa’s irreverent Igor’s Boogie and a one-off treat for classical and jazz fans alike – Steven Osborne and Gomez performing the music of the late, great Bill Evans.

The London performance is part of the 2015 EFG London Jazz Festival.
